It seems highly likely that Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds will make their Coachella debut come spring, as last week the dark lord of gothic songwriting and his band of Aussies announced a tour that leaves them very near the West Coast at the start of April.

Whether that comes to pass or not, however, there’s good news this week for roughly 1,000 devotees who might have the wherewithal and wads of cash enough to score a chance at seeing the group Feb. 21 at the Fonda Theatre in Hollywood.

Cave, 55, and his mates — drummer Thomas Wydler, bassist Martyn  P. Casey, keys man Conway Savage and multi-instrumentalists Warren Ellis and Jim Sclavunos — will gear up for the Feb. 19 release of their 15th studio effort, Push the Sky Away, with four launch events. Each show will feature the complete work accompanied by strings and a choir, plus a screening of a short film (by Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard) about the making of the album, billed as an unprecedented peer into the group’s recording process.

The first three are in Europe just before the album drops: Feb. 10 at Her Majesty’s Theatre in London, Feb. 11 at Trianon in Paris and Feb. 13 at Admiralspalast in Berlin. A week later they arrive in L.A.

Tickets go on sale Friday, Jan. 18, at 10 a.m. Brace yourself for the price tag: $140.
